Responsibilities
A DevOps engineer is open and willing to do what needs to be done to support the successful delivery of a software product. The DevOps engineer is passionate about automating every step of the application deployment, using their experience and knowledge to understand requirements, generate resources, facilitate deployments, and build required pipelines. When opportunities exist for improvement, the DevOps Engineer engages with the team to explore how to leverage best practices to deliver value to the partner and project.
Design and implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery systems for deploying applications to the Cloud that are robust and scalable.
Create, manage, maintain, and debug issues with cloud computing resources.
Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and create clarity on what needs to be done.
Meet and collaborate with our development teams in India as needed based on project requirements.
Participate in weekly technical and leadership development learning groups.
80% of time focused on partner projects and 20% of time with In Time Tec.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with at least one major cloud computing environment such as AWS or Azure.
Demonstrable knowledge of major features and ability to apply industry best practices.
Experience utilizing toolsets to create and manage application deployments.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code concepts and practices.
Proficiency with scripting languages such as bash, Python, or PowerShell.
Experience and demonstrable knowledge of CLI tools and libraries for interacting with cloud environments.
Experience with management and configuration of databases, data migration, and relational vs. document database differences.
Experience with storage, retrieval, and querying of application logs. Ability to support development teams with application triage.
Knowledge of secure DevOps practices and ability to grow, learn, and support teams to create secure software solutions in the cloud.
Experience with at least one version control system. Knowledge and experience of basics including branching, merging, and conflict resolution.
Experience utilizing resources to work through basic, common errors encountered. Candidate is willing to put in the work to discover for themselves, and reach out to teammates when necessary.
Experience with automated configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible.
Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, AWS OpsWorks.
Experience developing in C# or Java applications and/or working in test automation a plus.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field is preferred. If a candidate does not have a bachelor’s degree then 3 or more relevant years of experience are required.
2-4 years of experience with AWS and/or Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Experience working in Scrum teams with planning, scoping and creation of technical solutions for the new product capabilities, through to continuous delivery to production.
